Who We Are
Our Organizational Structure
Our organization now has one corporation member, Linda Rammler,
M.Ed., Ph.D. (Robin Wood, M.H.S.A., a former member, is now the
Self-Determination Director for the CT DMR.) We have several part-
and full-time employees who serve as tutor/mentors for individual
students and perform other functions consistent with our values and
visions. Sometimes, we subcontract with individuals who share our
inclusive philosophy and commitment to excellence. Such
subcontractors may represent the disciplines of psychology; general
and special education; educational and public administration; policy;
physical, occupational, and speech and language therapies;
augmentative communication; assistive technology; and/or family
support. We are always interested in collaborating with others whom
we believe excel in their fields.
Linda H. Rammler, M.Ed., Ph.D.
Linda H. Rammler, M.Ed., Ph.D., the senior member of RWC in more
ways than one, has been involved with inclusive education for more
than 20 years and has over 30 years of experience “in the field.” Her
activities over the last two decades have involved consulting to public
schools in the areas of inclusive education systems change and
provision of supports for individual classes and students. Toward this
end, she has worked with administrators and others to align school
policies and procedures with best practices in education for all
learners, provided training and technical assistance to school staffs
throughout Southern New England and beyond in effective tools for
successful inclusion, and collaborated with teams and families. Dr.
Linda’s special areas of interest are in positive and inclusive behavior
supports; working with students who have labels of autism spectrum
disorders; evidence-based practices such as Multiple Intelligences,
Differentiated Instruction, Collaborative Problem-Solving, and Brain-
Based Learning; building Circles of Friends and communities of
learners; person-centered planning; and the transition of youth with
disabilities from their fully inclusive secondary education to meaningful
and self-directed lives as adults with disabilities. Dr. Linda also
conducts independent educational evaluations that address the student’
s style of learning, ecological assessments comparing the demands of
the environment to the student’s need for support, and, for students
with labels on the autism spectrum, a unique approach to identifying
Movement, Anxiety, Communication, and Sensory (MACS) differences
in order to develop effective individualized programs. She has testified
on behalf of students seeking inclusion at due process hearings and in
federal court. Dr. Rammler is the mother of four children, all of whom
are adopted and two of whom have had IEPs. She is also the mother of
seven cats and is married to Mark Partin. In her spare time, she eats a
lot of chocolate and reads mystery novels until she falls asleep.
